The microspheres slowly release antibiotic for weeks, fighting the bacteria your toothbrush can’t reach.

What the visit involves

• A periodontal evaluation — measuring the depth of pockets around your teeth.
• Scaling and root planing to remove tartar and rough surfaces where bacteria hide.
• Placement of ARESTIN microspheres into the affected pockets.
• Simple at-home instructions — no rinsing or hard brushing for 12 hours, avoid sticky food in the area for a week.
• A follow-up visit to re-measure the pockets and confirm healing.

A note on consistency

ARESTIN works best as part of a long-term plan. After treatment, we’ll typically recommend periodontal maintenance cleanings every three or four months for a while to keep bacteria from rebuilding. Most patients stabilize beautifully with that rhythm.
